Winter Beauty Essentials
/Winter is always a little harsh to the skin. The drop in temperature and constant dry heating can be quite dehydrating to the skin. Here are a few of my essentials to beat the winter blues!
Ren Guerande Salt Exfoliating Body Balm - This body scrub is the best for getting rid of those pesky dry patches and keeping your skin soft and supple. You massage it into dry skin, really working it into the elbows, knees, ankles, and everywhere else. It really gets your circulation going too! Then you rinse it off in warm water and you're left with exfoliated and nourished skin. For a more gentle scrub, you can use it on wet skin. I love this so much, I've gifted it to several friends!
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Ultra-Hydrating Body Butter - I'm not a huge fan of Josie Maran products, I think a lot of the facial products are designed for a drier skin type and I can have a sensitivity to the fragranced body products. But, this body butter is an exception. First, it smells heavenly. I have the Vanilla Apricot one and it smells just like that - deep, a little sweet, and creamy. Second, the texture of this is so luxurious. It's definitely on the greasy side of a body product, but it absorbs into the skin really nicely and leaves a nice sheen. It's perfect for when your skin needs a little extra TLC.
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask - This is a great product because you can use it in conjunction with all of your existing products. This is the last step in your evening skincare routine. I like to think of it as top coat for your skin. After you apply all your evening potions, you apply a thin layer of this all over to seal everything in and provide an extra boost of hydration. It smells very Korean-y, but it dissipates and in the morning you're left with glowing, soft, and supple skin.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate - This is a very gentle physical and chemical exfoliant for the face. It does tingle a little, but it goes away after a few seconds and doesn't leave the skin irritated. I love it because it really gets rid of the dry patches and leaves the skin soft and smooth and ready for skincare.
Kate Somerville DermalQuench Liquid Lift - I know, another KS product, but what can I say, I'm a devotee! This is probably my favorite KS product ever. I'm currently on my 3rd jumbo can of it so that says a lot. There are very few products that I repurchase, and even fewer that I purchase a 3rd time. This is a triple threat - it hydrates, exfoliates, and plumps the skin. The hyaluronic acid in it allows for your your serums and moisturizes to bind to the skin better. When I use this regularly, I notice a brighter, more even complexion. It's also safe to use in the undereye area and recommended for the lip area as well.
